Alabama Swamp Weaponizes Secretary of State’s Office Against Health Freedom Alabama: Grassroots Group Threatened with Bogus Criminal Charges
Last week we wrote to you about this year’s legislative session, and how pleased you all should be over the way Health Freedom Alabama is standing tall for the health rights of everyone.
Huge Success Achieved this Year by Health Freedom Alabama Members
As a quick review, here are just some of the achievements YOU gained this year in the statehouse:
PASSED HB4 filed by Rep. Chestnut which stops forced microchipping of Alabama citizens by employers and state government
STOPPED SB53 filed by Senator Butler which allows the federal government to force Alabama citizens to “show their papers” and ignore Alabama’s law banning vaccine passports in the state
FORCED a roll call vote with the help of Rep. Yarbrough to eliminate vaccine mandates on foster families in Alabama which made politicians finally go on record about mandates
EXPOSED bought politicians by Big Pharma
FILED HB324, the Alabama Health Freedom Act by Rep. Yarbrough, which stops vaccine status discrimination
But, my friends, I have even better proof of just how effective HFA has been this past year:
Thanks to YOUR great work making yourself heard to your elected officials, the Alabama political class has actually threatened the leaders of HFA with jail time!
Yes, you read that right.
When We Get Attacked, It Means We Are Over the Target
The Alabama swamp is so worked up over voters contacting their elected officials about health freedom, they have now used the Secretary of State’s office to threaten the leaders of Health Freedom Alabama with bogus criminal charges!
If you read our post the other day, you may remember the part about Alabama being at the top of the list for the most politically corrupt states in the nation.
Knowing this, it has been no surprise to us when corrupt state politicians turned their evil eyes to Health Freedom Alabama.
Those bad actors have noticed how effectively we can rally the membership of HFA to act for freedom and liberty and it FRIGHTENS them.
These politicians took advantage of their friendships with one another to go after the leaders of Heath Freedom Alabama in an attempt to shut us down, shut us up, and throw us in jail.
Here are the details of how we, the HFA leaders, were targeted this legislative session.
Health Freedom Alabama Stands Up for Employee Rights
This past March, HFA leaders discovered that House Rep. Rhett Marques (R-Enterprise) continues to believe that any employer has the right to mandate a vaccine on their employees.
Marques does not support HB 324, the Alabama Health Freedom Act, which seeks to provide protections to Alabama citizens to be free from vaccine status discrimination.
Rep. Marques is a member of the Health Committee where HB324 was assigned to die by Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter.
Rep. Rhett Marques and Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter Behave Like Thugs
After HFA leaders issued a call to action to our membership to shed light on Rep. Marques’ “Biden-like” opinions, Marques retaliated in true ‘Alabama-style’ and politically-corrupt fashion.
With the blessing of House Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter, Rep. Marques maliciously had HFA Co-Director, Stephanie Durnin, escorted out of the State House by security for the minor offense of an expired lobbying name tag.
The same security guard informed Durnin (while escorting her out of the State House) that HFA was being investigated for “harassing House Reps. for compelling people to contact their legislators.”
Got that? Speaker Ledbetter and Rep. Marques think it is harassment when they hear from their voters about matters of public policy!
Blatant Double Standard from House Leadership
Ironically, the VERY next day the Ethics Commission sent out an email to remind all registered lobbyists to make sure they renewed their annual lobbyist registration.
Keep in mind, Health Freedom Alabama leadership was escorted out of the building and threatened over an expired name tag. But other lobbyists were sent an email notice and reminded to renew their name tags. Talk about a double standard!
Incidentally, if HFA was or is under investigation by the Ethics Commission for any alleged “wrongdoings,” we have still not been notified or given any form of due process as of late June.
HFA has maintained all along that our grassroots leaders should not be required to register as lobbyists.
However, the state insists that in order to petition our lawmakers, HFA leaders must pay an annual $100 registration (each) just for the “privilege” of being able to speak with our legislators about issues that are important to the protection of freedom and liberty.
The swamp will implement any barrier they can in order to try and keep true grassroots advocates out of the halls of the State House.
Informing Our Members About the Behavior of Alabama Politicians
Shining light on the actions of our Alabama politicians is one of the ways we fulfill our mission. Constituents must be informed about the actions of their elected officials so that they can respond if they so choose.
As part of our mailer program this past May, HFA informed the constituency of House District 86 and 91, belonging to House Representative & Health Committee Chairman Paul Lee and Representative Rhett Marques, that their legislators were receiving campaign donations to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars from out of state Big Pharma players.
Do you think that receiving donations from Pfizer will impact their vote on a bill about vaccines?
We think so and that’s why we asked their constituents to contact their House Reps to discuss HB 324, the Alabama Health Freedom Act, as well as their Big Pharma campaign donations.
Rep. Lee and Rep. Marques Coordinate with Sec. of State Wes Allen to Threaten HFA Leaders
As you can guess, Lee & Marques did not like their dirty little secrets aired to their constituents.
So, they ran and whined to their buddy, prior House Rep. and newly elected Secretary of State, Wes Allen, to do something.
To help shield and protect his friends, Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen sent HFA a certified letter from his office threatening our leaders with arrest over bogus charges because we dared to send mail to his buddy’s district (Rep. Marques - House District 91).
Let that sink in……..we were threatened with imprisonment for telling Alabama citizens what their elected officials were doing. WOW!
Our members are making a difference for freedom and liberty with the steps they take when we issue our calls to action. Otherwise, these corrupt politicians would completely ignore us.
However, we know that we are over the target because they keep trying to shut us down…….shut YOU down.

We will NOT quit. We will NOT give up. We will NOT leave this fight for our children.
