Take Action To Pass A Law To Stop Mask Mandates on our Children Once & For All

CALL TO ACTION & AN UPDATE

A bill that allows parents to opt out of masking their children in public schools, HB186 by Rep. Chip Brown (R-Mobile), will be heard in the Health Committee in Montgomery on Wednesday, 04/12/2023 at 10:30AM in Room 206 at the Alabama State House at 11 S. Union St. in Montgomery. The bill can be found here: https://www.legislature.state.al.us/pdf/SearchableInstruments/2023RS/HB186-int.pdf

The bill is set to have a public hearing which means that YOU can offer input and talk to the House Health Committee about your experience with the forced masking of your children at schools. Parents who wish to speak at the public hearing will need to be present early and sign the paper requesting to speak. Please plan on arriving early enough to get through security. No weapons, pocket knives or placards/signs are allowed in the State House.

Having a packed committee room full of parents who want to stop the forced masking of their children from ever happening again would send a clear message to our legislators that the usurpation of parental rights will not be tolerated now OR in the future.

Emails and phone calls to these health committee members are just as important so don’t feel bad if you can’t make it to Montgomery. We have included the email list below as well as a phone/email list for your reference.

Send this email to the Health Committee members. In the subject line, put PASS HB186. In the “To” field, copy and paste the email addresses below. In the body of the email paste this:

Dear Health Committee Member,

Pass HB186 out of committee to stop the masking of children in schools against the wishes of parents. Amend the bill to make it apply to ALL schools.

Last week, HB187 also by Rep. Chip Brown (R-Mobile), passed out of committee and the next stop will be to get the bill out of the Rules Committee. The intent of HB187 is to “require consent of a parent or a legal guardian for any minor to receive a vaccination.” We would like to see this bill strengthened to include penalties and for the consent of a parent to be “written.” You can read the bill here: https://www.legislature.state.al.us/.../2023RS/HB187-int.pdf

Contact the Rules Committee Chairman, Rep. Joe Lovvorn, at 334-261-0573 to tell him that you want to see HB187 placed on the agenda for a House Floor vote.

There are no shortage of battles in Montgomery and this session is shaping up to be interesting. Take note of those new legislators who ran on “freedom and liberty.” Are they measuring up to your expectations or are they now co-opted by the establishment? It only takes a few caucus meetings (brainwashing sessions) to get new legislators “in line.” Make sure that your legislator hears from you often about the issues that are important to you.
